RECEIVED <br /> kdkk 07 Juin, k dd Ipin't <br /> TOWN CLERK <br /> Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) LEXINGTON MA <br /> April 13, 2022 Meeting Minutes <br /> Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission <br /> (Lex250) convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on April 13, 2022 at <br /> 3:37 pm as allowed by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the <br /> Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. <br /> Present: Suzie Barry (Select Board Member), Steve Conners (Reenactment Community), Barry <br /> Cunha (Local Business Representative), Bebe Fallick(Tourism Committee Representative), <br /> Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations Committee Representative), Julie O'Leary (Civic <br /> Representative), Mona Roy (Community Representative) and Jillian Tung (Music &Arts <br /> Representative), Michael Froning (Guest Attendee) <br /> 1. The meeting was called to order at 3:37 pm by Ms. Barry. <br /> 2. A motion by Ms. Barry to accept the minutes from the March 23, 2022 meeting as <br /> amended and corrected was seconded by several committee members and approved by <br /> roll call vote. <br /> 3. Updates and discussion <br /> a. Logo contest <br /> i. Ms. Tung met with the 3 award winners and discussed procedures for the <br /> Patriots Day opening ceremony. <br /> ii. Ms. Tung will coordinate printing and mounting of the logos for public <br /> display and will arrange for the printing of 3 large checks to be given to <br /> the award winners during the ceremony. <br /> iii. Ms. Barry will arrange to have actual checks drawn from the Town for the <br /> monetary awards <br /> iv. Possibilities for commemorative items using the logo were discussed: <br /> baseball caps, bucket hats, buttons, magnets, T-shirts, pens, and other <br /> items. <br /> V. Ms. Fallick suggested meeting with Visitors Center staff for <br /> recommendations on specific items <br /> vi. Expenditure for 500 1 '/2 inch diameter buttons for Discovery Day was <br /> approved by roll call vote. <br /> b. Email account <br /> i. Ms. Barry shared that the Lex250 Commission has a new email account <br /> with the Town. We need to assign someone to check it regularly. <br /> c. Discovery Day <br /> i. Following group discussion, we decided to register for a booth at <br /> Discovery Day, which will take place on May 28, 2022 <br /> ii. Participation will allow us to engage with the community about the <br /> Semiquincentennial and recruit volunteers <br /> iii. Ms. Barry will register the committee <br /> iv. The booth will be staffed by Ms. Roy, Ms. O'Leary, and Ms. Tung <br /> d. Community outreach <br />
