Hoyt said <br /> that any resolution made would involve only the maximums in the <br /> ' present salary schedule. He also stated that the salary report <br /> was accepted by the Town in principle only. <br /> An individual poll was taken and a majority of the <br /> Committee voted to retain the present salary maximums as set <br /> forth in the salary schedule report. <br /> A suggestion was made of a 15% bonus with the maximum <br /> set at 3375.00. <br /> The individual members were asked if they favored a 15% <br /> bonus with a maximum of $375.00, and a motion was made, seconded <br /> and voted that this Committee recommend to the Board of Selectmen <br /> a 15% wage adjustment bonus to be paid to all full-time employees <br /> in the employ of the Town as of December 31, 1943. No bonus is to <br /> exceed 1375.00 and is to be paid during the calendar year of 1944. <br /> It is to be based on 1943 pay rolls. Payments are to be added to <br /> the regular pay roll checks. The bonus payments cease if and when <br /> the employee terminates his or her services. Of the total amount, <br /> a portion is to be allocated to the School Department and based on <br /> 15% of their annual rate of earnings as indicated in their Decem- <br /> ber 1943 pay rolls and no payments are to exceed $375.00. <br /> Mr. Lewis L. Hoyt spoke about the Committee on Public <br /> Safety not needing a full-time secretary and said that only i3600.00 <br /> for the secretary was included in their budget for the year 1944. <br /> Mr. A. Edward Rowse, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, <br /> entered the meeting at 10:00 P.N . and Mr. Lewis L. Hoyt read the <br /> vote recommending to the Board of Selectmen that a bonus of 15% <br /> be paid to the employees of the Town, but no employee is to receive <br /> over $375.00. Mr. A. Edward Rowse said that he thought we ought <br /> to take a middle course. Mr. Lewis L. Hoyt said that a 15% bonus <br /> will take care of the Police, Fire and Men School Teachers.
