• <br /> NOVEMBER 3, 1964. <br /> The Appropriation ,Committee met on Monday evening, November 2, 1964 in the <br /> office of the Town Accountant. <br /> -- Present: J. Harper Blaisdell, Chairman <br /> Richard H. Battin " Robert el. Gary <br /> Donald P. Noyes Frank T. Parrish,Jr. <br /> Mrs. Richard W. Souza Raymond L. White, Secretary <br /> Logan Clarke telephoned that he could not be present. <br /> n • Our chairman read letter received from the Board of Selectmen in which <br /> ` John J. Carroll, Superintendent of Public Works had advised them that addit- <br /> Tonal funds will be needed for the Water Services account and it was voted to <br /> request the Appropriation Committee to transfer $1,000.00 from the Reserve <br /> Fund to the Water Service account. John J. Carroll entered our meeting and <br /> he was asked why he needed $1,000.00 more for the water services account. His <br /> answer was that he needed the $1,000.00 to take care of water services request <br /> ed. <br /> Our chairman read letter received from the Board of Selectmen in which the <br /> Board of Fire Commissioners had advised them that additional funds will be <br /> needed for the Ambulance account. It was voted by the Board.of Selectmen to <br /> request the Appropriation. Committee to transfer $200.00 from the Reserve Fund <br /> to the Ambulance Account. <br /> The Town Facilities Committee entered our meeting at 8:00 P. M. Present <br /> were Ruth Morey, Leslie H. York, and Philip B. Parsons; They stated the <br /> following estimated cost for maintenance of the proposed building, which is as <br /> follows: <br /> Heating -R'400.00; Electricity $300.00 and Janitor Service $1,750.00. <br /> Totalestimated cost for the year to be approximately 44,875.00. <br /> Information Booth. From May 1st through October 1, 1965. Sunday from 1 :07 <br /> _to 5: 00 P. M. and week days from 1 O'Clock to 5:00 P. M. Two persons at booth <br /> on Sunday, Chamber of Commerce has taken the total tag of $4,875.00 mentioned <br /> above, <br /> The revised estimate of cost for building will be under $40,000.00. <br /> Mrs. Ruth Morey asked this committee to go ahead with the ideas proposed . <br /> to operate the building will be approximately $2,600.00 annually. Committee <br /> 'left our meeting at 8: 15 P. M. <br /> Article 8. Facilities and information Building would require permission <br /> from the General Court to build on this property. <br /> Article 9. Final plans, specifications and obtain bids. Request $2,000.00 <br /> appropriation for drawings, specifications and final plans. <br /> Donald Noyes spoke about renting portions of proposed building and by so <br /> doing could get sufficient money to pay the total cost for maintenance on <br /> building. <br />
