451 <br /> December 10, 1963 <br /> Th Appropriation Committee met Monday, December 9, 1963 at 7:44.5 P.M. <br /> Present:: Donald P. Noyes, Chairman <br /> Richard H. Battin John R. Bevan <br /> Oscar R. Carlson Ralph B. Fifield Jr. <br /> J. Harper Blaisdell Logan Clarke Jr. <br /> Robert H. Kingston Frank T. Parrish Jr. <br /> Raymond L. White Secretary <br /> Messrs Rufus L. McQuillan, Chairman, Dr. William L. Cosgrove and <br /> James M. West entered our meeting at 8::00 P. M. to go over their Board <br /> of Health Budgets. The first budget discussed was Personal Service No. <br /> 11-A item Vacation Coverage and Extra Help 300.00; Expenses, No. 11-B <br /> Innoculations from 300.00 to 600.00. The Board stated this increase is <br /> due to increase service which we have to give, Middlesex County Sanatorium <br /> from $1,200.00 to 2,000.00. This is on account of increase in cost from <br /> $10.25 to $11.50 a day per Patient. Medicine - Home T. B. patient 4300.00. <br /> This is a new item this year and so far the cost of T. B. medicine to date <br /> is 330.00. Health - Engineering budget No. 11-C. There is a saving in <br /> this budget of $ 1,000.00 from 1,500.00 for year 1963 to 00.00 for year <br /> 1964. The next budget considered was Dental Clinc. Dr. osgrove spoke <br /> about a dental chair they could purchase at a good price. This chair <br /> includes unit lights and drill. <br /> Mr. Irving H. Mabee of the planning board entered our meeting to <br /> request an emergency appropriation of $1,000.00 for general expenses, <br /> as money was spent for consultant services. A motion was made, seconded <br /> and voted to transfer $1,000.00 from the Reserve Fund to pj.anning Board <br /> Expense Account. <br /> The Board of Fire Commissioners, William P. Fitzgerald, Chairman, <br /> J. S. Nsson Whitney and Stanley E. Robbins entered our meeting at 9:00 <br /> . P.M. to discuss and go over their budgets. On personal service budget, <br /> the firemen are going from a 56 to a 50.4 hour a week. The past year <br /> the fire department had 408 calls for the am4ulande. Reguesting a new <br /> fire engine to replace Engine 4 and to cost 03,000.00. Engine 4 has <br /> gone between 25,000.to 26,000. running miles. <br /> The Fire Commissioners left our meeting at 10:25 P. M. and ad- <br /> journed at 10:30 P.M. <br /> Raymond L.
