427
July 9, 1963
The Appropriation Committee met Monday evening, July $, 1963 at
7:30 P. M. in the office of the Town Accountant.
Present: Donald P. Noyes, Chairman
J. Harper Blaisdell,Vice Chairman Richard H. Battin
C'n Robert H. Kingston John R. Bevan
Frank T. Parrish, Jr. Oscar R. Carlson
Q Raymond L. White, Secretary
t Ralph B. Fifield Jr. telephoned the Secretarystatinghe was going
on vacation and would not be present.
g g
A general discussion was had relative to Lexington Golf course.
A letter from Albert Gray, Jr. stated that the Board of Selectmen
voted to request the Appropriation Committee to transfer the sum of
$100.00 from the Reserve Fund to the Police Department, Out of State
Travel budget. Finally it was voted to transfer the sum '440.00 as
the Police Department, Out of State Travel appropriation balance, as
of June 30, 1963 shows $60.00.
At 9:00 P. M. Messrs. Irving H. Mabee, Chairman, Robert E. Meirer
and Roland Greeley, of the Planning Board, joined our meeting to talk
about the golf course and land conservation. The Planning Board is
100% behind the Conservation Commissioner. Under State law the
Conservation Commissioner buys easements on certain acreage. The
Lexington Conservation Commissioner can only spend $15,000.00 a year,
then the State would match a like amount of $15,000.00. The Planning
Board left our meeting at 9:25 P. M. and a general discussion on
land conservation was held.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
Raymond L. White
Secretary
