409 <br /> January 7, 1963 <br /> The Appropriation Committee met Monday evening, January 7, 1963 in the office <br /> of the Town Accountant. <br /> Present: .. Logan Clarke Jr. , Chairman <br /> J. Harper Blaidsdell John R. Bevan <br /> Maurice F. Shaughnessy Robert H. Kingston <br /> Raymond L. White, Secretary <br /> The Board of Selectmen request a transfer from the Reserve Fund to Law <br /> Department, Special Fees of $163.17. Also the Inspection Department request <br /> a transfer from the Reserve Fund to Inspection Department, Personal Services <br /> of $24.38. This committee approved the above two requests and so voted. <br /> ,"yam <br /> The Board of Assessors entered our meeting at 8:00 P. M. o' clock to discuss <br /> their budget. <br /> Mr. Cronin stated that the valuation did not increase in the year 1962 the <br /> same as it had in previous years 168 new houses in the year 1961 and 137 <br /> new houses in the year 1962. Also have had 550 abatement requests for the <br /> year 1962. Stationery and supplies cost increase due to new forms for <br /> machine accounting. $157,000 in new building starts, 300,000 in personal <br /> property and 3,925,000 in real estate net gain. The Assessors left our <br /> meeting at 9:00 P. M. o'clock. <br /> The Planning Board entered our meeting at 9:00 P. 14. o'clock. Thomas <br /> Grindle stated that Mr. Snow plans to get through in May or June 1963 to go <br /> into private practice. Planning Board to hire a new man for 3/Lb of a year. <br /> Planning Board Expenses - Item No. 17 3 was discussed. Finally the budget <br /> total as decided is $7,350.00. <br /> At 9:50 P. M. this committee went down to the Board of Selectmen' s meeting. <br /> The onl : item they wanted to discuss or request vas a transfer of $163.17 <br /> from the Reserve Fund to Law Department, Special Fees. This request has <br /> already been approved, so we returned to our meeting. <br /> Assessors Expenses budget approved for $22, 100.00. <br /> Planning Board, Personal Service budget Item 17 A was considered. <br /> Planning Board, Expenses budget item #17 B. Bevan and Kingston in favor <br /> of $7,350.00 and Clarke, Shaughnessy, Blaisdell and White in Favor of <br /> $6,050.00. <br /> Members of Capital Expenditures committee entered our meeting and informal <br /> discussions was had. <br /> Adjourned at 11 : 10 P.
