June 16, 1961 <br /> The Appropriation Committee met on June 15 , 1961 at $:00 P. M. in the <br /> office of the Town Accountant. <br /> Present: J. Blaisdell <br /> Edward A. Palmer C. R. Christensen <br /> John Bevan Aldred Viano <br /> Logan Clark Jr. Richard Battin <br /> Maurice Shaughnessy <br /> The Report of the previous meeting was accepted as read. <br /> Town Warrant for Town Meeting 6/1,9/61 <br /> 3 <br /> ART. Voted — Dump site, $10,000 to be transferred from E & D. <br /> favorable action <br /> A study made by S. Brown and John Blaisdell as to financial schedule <br /> of new secondary School was read, showing the effect on the tax rate <br /> of the nPXt few years. Two plans were offered for consideration. <br /> A general discussion followed. <br /> At 9:05 the Committee adjourned to meet with the Standing School/ <br /> Building Committee. They returned at 10: 55. <br /> The alternative is to postpone action on ART. 2 by adding $30,000 <br /> to the present appropriation and not ask for $12$,000 uitil the <br /> Fall. <br /> Voted: To amend motion on Arts. 4 and 2 so that the smaller amount <br /> be raised to carry the Standing School Building Committee <br /> through until a Fall Town Meeting. To transfer 825,000 from <br /> E & D. 5 voted in favor of Amendment, 2 voted against. <br /> On Art. 4, Favorable action to change Zoning to C 3 <br /> 7 voted for the change and none voted against. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 11:25 P.
