6ii
A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the Committee
Room of Cary Memorial Hall on July 8, 1957, at 8 P. M.
Present were :
Norman Richards Munroe Hamilton
Edgar Bailey A. E. Rowse, Jr.
Edward Palmer
It was voted to transfer $300.00 to Collectors Personal Services
Account to cover extra clerical services because of Assessors
Department' s failure to process Real Estate Tax bills.
It was agreed that every effort should be made by all Departments
involved to expidite the Collector's preparation of the Tax Bills
,; as experience demonstrates that early submittal of the Bills to the
tax payers results in considerable savings to the town.
The Departments referred to are Water and Assessors.
A letter was voted to be sent to the Chairman of the Addition
of Town Office Building Committee concerning his request for a
$5,730.50 transfer, to the effect that as this is a Capital Expenditure
project, and as a Town Meeting will probably be held in September,
the matter of additional funds should be placed before the Town
Meeting. .The Committee feels that except in extreme cases a
transfer of this kind should not be made from the Reserve Fund.
Adjourned: 9:20. , to meet again later. Meeting to be called by
mail.
Respectfully submitted,
Secretary
