154- <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the <br /> Conference R.)om, Cary Memorial Building, November 15, 1954 with <br /> the following members present : <br /> Gardner Ferguson, Chairman <br /> Austin W. Fisher, Jr. William Madden �. <br /> Robert Cave Frank D. Walker, Sec. <br /> Letters from the foliowin;7 departments requesting transfers <br /> were read: <br /> Library - 159.00 for temporary help in children's room. <br /> Town Clerk - 36.00 for payment of. clerks . <br /> Voted to transfer as requested above. <br /> Discussion of Annual Report. <br /> At 8:00 P.M. Mr. Alfred Tropeano with his Maple Street School <br /> Building Committee, came into our meeting to discuss Article II <br /> of the November 22nd Special Town Meeting. The figures as <br /> presented by the committee are as follows : <br /> General Contract 560, 220 <br /> Site Development 56, 895 ( includes lighting, <br /> Drainage & recreation area) <br /> Architect 's Fees 49, 685 <br /> Equipment 50, 000 <br /> Contingency 10, 000 <br /> Clerkof the Works 5,000 <br /> Bidding Fxpense 1, 200 <br /> 733, 000 <br /> These figures include sewage connection to a contemplated gravity <br /> fed sewer main in Maple Street. If the Maple Street sewer is not <br /> installed it will cost an additional tl2,500 for an ejector and <br /> generator. <br /> The school will be known as the "Harrington School. " <br /> The school building committee recommends the transfer of 133,000 <br /> from F. D. and the bonding of 1'700,000 for a period not to exceed <br /> 20 years. Committee left at 8:40 P.M. <br /> The Appropriation Committee voted to recommend the construction of <br /> the school on Maple Street and to transfer the sum of ?"33, 000 from <br /> E. & D. and bond 1700,000 f;-or a period not exceeding 20 years. Under <br /> Article III the Approp. Comm. recommends the appropriation of X5, 000, <br /> this sum to be transferred from F. D. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9 :25 P.M. Next meeting Nov. 22, 1954 at 7: 30 <br /> prior to Town Meeting and immediately followinL the Town Meeting the <br /> budget books will be available with whatever budgets have been <br /> received. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Secretary. <br />
