150 <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held on October <br /> 18, 1954 with the following members present : <br /> Gardner Ferguson, Chairman <br /> John Biggs Austin W. Fisher Jr. <br /> Robert R. Cave James V. MacDonald 'T <br /> Thomas Donnelly, Jr. Leslie C. Reed <br /> William Madden Frank D. Walker, Sec. <br /> A letter was read announcing Mr. Robert Person's resignation as <br /> chairman of the Recreation Committee and the election o f Mr. Ernest <br /> Crerie to fill this position. <br /> There will be a meeting on Oct. 20, 1954 of the Association of Town <br /> Finance Commissions to discuss the new schedule of dues. <br /> The request for a transfer of $2,000 for Sewer Maintenance was moved <br /> and voted for this purpose. <br /> The request for a transfer of P3,123 for Vocational Education <br /> Tuition was discussed. The amount of x'2,000 was moved and voted <br /> upon. <br /> The budgets for the Appropriation Committee are to be the same as <br /> last year. <br /> There will be a special Town Meeting November 22, 1954 for the schools. <br /> There will be a joint meeting with the Selectmen October 25, 195L <br /> Thomas Donnelly for the Fire Department - requests an aluminum <br /> ladder for the aerial truck to cost 17,000. <br /> Leslie C. Reed for the School Department - k86,000 & Pers . Serv. <br /> 9,500 & Expenses <br /> James V. MacDonald for the Police Department - not expecting any <br /> material changes. <br /> John Biggs for the Public Works Dept. - no increase in salaries <br /> expected. <br /> Robert Cave - Capital Expense - no change contemplated from report. <br /> Discussion followed relative to the use of young boys for traffic <br /> direction at schools. <br /> Discussion concerning three radiators in Cataloguing Room at the <br /> Cary Memorial Library costing P300. <br /> Discussion on format for new report - Winchester, Natick, Needham <br /> how do they figure per capita. <br /> Next meeting Oct. 27, 1954 at 7:30. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 10 :37. <br /> �cfull '�subta , <br /> � Secretary. <br />
