139 <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the <br /> Conference Room in Cary Memorial Building at 7:30 P . M. on December <br /> 21, 1953, with the following members in attendance: <br /> Raymond W. James, Chairman <br /> Leslie C . Read Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr. , <br /> Gardner C. Ferguson William Malden <br /> Donald T. Clark Austin W. Fisher, Jr. , <br /> Robert R. Cave John Biggs <br /> Frank D. Walker, Secretary <br /> d.. <br /> T". The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P . M. <br /> The minutes of the meeting held on Decemier 14, 1953 were accented. <br /> A letter received from Harold Stevens, Town Counsel, was read <br /> giving us an official interpretation of our recommendations on <br /> articles in any warrant. Discussion followed. <br /> It was voted to advise Mr. Rowse as follows, confirming same <br /> by letter: <br /> "Mr. A. Edward Rowse - December 22, 1953 <br /> 38 Somerset Rd. , <br /> Lexington 73, Mass. <br /> Dear Mr. Rowse: <br /> At a meeting of the Appropriation Committee held <br /> December 21; 1953, it was voted to report to the <br /> Committee of one hundred that it did not care to <br /> change. its position on Article 3 of the Special <br /> Town Meeting on November 30, 1953. In its report <br /> to that Town Meeting the Appropriation Committee <br /> reported as follows : <br /> The Appropriation Committee makes no recommendation." <br /> rVery truly yours , <br /> Secretary <br /> Discussion of Library Pxpenses follows : <br /> Adjourned at 10 :30 P .
