January 27, 1953 <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the office <br /> of the Town Accountant on Monday evening, January 26th with the follow- <br /> ing members in attendance: <br /> Leon W. Bateman, Chairman <br /> Raymond W. James Ralph H. Tucker <br /> A. W. Cleveland Leslie C. Read <br /> James V. Macdonald Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr. <br /> Gardner C. Ferguson William Madden <br /> Frank D. Walker, Secretary <br /> The minutes of the meeting held January 19th were presented and <br /> approved. <br /> Per advice from the Division of Accounts the balance available <br /> from the Excess & Deficiency Account is 009,000. <br /> The Cemetery appropriations may be combined. <br /> It is voted not to go along with the School Com.' ittee on a general <br /> raise if they ask for one . <br /> It was voted to establish a policy relative to clerks salaries : <br /> Jr. Clerk t36 38 gi4.0 442 <br /> St. Clerk A42 A46 Aj.8 <br /> Voted "where nearest advance step on schedule provides for less <br /> than 11 weekly increase, the next higher step on schedule will be used. <br /> Went through and indicated the amounts desired to be paid on clerks. <br /> Grant Cole, Civil Defense administrator came in and explained to the <br /> Committee his budget requests. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M. <br /> The next regular meeting will be held Monday evening, February 2, <br /> 1953. <br /> e ectfully' submitted,( <br /> MOIL <br /> O <br /> Secretary <br />
