December 18, 1951 <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the <br /> office of the Town Accountant Monday evening, December 17, 1951, <br /> with the following members in attendance: <br /> Leon W. Bateman, Chairman <br /> Clarence E. Smith Ralph A. Tucker <br /> Leslie E. Read Howard A. Patterson <br /> John J. Sullivan Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr. <br /> Ethel U. Rich, Secretary <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7: 30 by Chairman <br /> Leon W. Bateman. <br /> The minutes of the meeting held on December 10, 1951 <br /> were presented and approved. <br /> It was voted to place the following statement in the records <br /> of the minutes andto so notify the Selectmen: <br /> "That, without further facts and considerations <br /> the Appropriation Committee does not believe <br /> it wise to commit itself at this time either <br /> for or against the suggested wages and hours <br /> program proposed by the Board of Selectmen. " <br /> It was voted to rescind the vote of December 3, 1951 for <br /> A1155.00 Building & Plumbing - Expenses, and the following vote <br /> was made: Building & Plumbing - Expenses ? 1175.00. A letter <br /> will be sent to Mr. Lindstrom advising him of the increase to <br /> his expense budget. <br /> The Board of Health, consisting of William Cosgrove, Roy <br /> McQuillan and Richard Jackson, came in at 8:10 to discuss <br /> their 1952 budget. Left at 8 :50. <br /> Mr. Burns came in at 9 : 30 to review further budgets under <br /> his jurisdiction. Mr. Burns explained to the Committee his re- <br /> quest for a transfer from the Reserve Fund to Insurance. Left <br /> at 10:30. <br /> It was voted to transfer 8200 from Reserve Fund to Insurance. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 10:55 P. M. <br /> The next meeting will be held foliowi.n the holidays on <br /> January 7, 1952 at 7: 30, with the following agenda: <br /> 8:00 Mr. Garrity <br /> 8:15 Cemetery Commissioners <br /> 9 :00 Police <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Secretary <br />
