St; MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE <br /> APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD ON <br /> November 20, 1951 <br /> A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the <br /> office of the Town Accountant Monday evening, November 19, 1951 <br /> with the following members in attendance: <br /> Leon W. Bateman, Chairman <br /> Ralph H. Tucker Clarence E. Smith <br /> Howard A. Patterson Raymond W. James <br /> John J . Sullivan Thomas J . Donnelly, Jr. <br /> A. W. Cleveland Leslie C. Reftd <br /> Ethel U. Rich, Secretary <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman <br /> Leon W. Bateman. <br /> The minutes of the meeting held on September 11, 1951 were <br /> presented and approved. <br /> Superintendent Burns came in at 7:35 and explained the <br /> reason he was asking for transfers from the Reserve Fund at this <br /> time . For Sewer Maintenance, the amount of 3400 is needed for <br /> maintaining pumps at the pumping station for remainder of year. <br /> For Water Services A5000 is needed but Mr. Burns said he would <br /> do as many as he could with a transfer of $2500. 330 services <br /> are completed to date, 28 paid to be done and an estimate of 45 <br /> more before the end of the year. Mr. Burns left at 7:50 P.M. <br /> It waw voted to transfer from Reserve the following accounts : <br /> Sewer Maintenance W. & E. $ 400.00 <br /> Water Services W. & E. 2500.00 <br /> The following letter was read: <br /> " November 14, 1951 <br /> Appropriation Committee <br /> Town Office Building <br /> Lexington 73, Massachusetts <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> We last night voted to approve for recommendation <br /> to your Board a transfer of A2500 from the Reserve <br /> Fund to the Water Services Account . This was a <br /> much debated item when we were making up the budgets <br /> last year and the two Boards cut it away down. We <br /> have already given back 15,000 and fear that this <br /> A2500 request will not he enough to see us through <br />
