St; MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE
APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD ON
November 20, 1951
A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the
office of the Town Accountant Monday evening, November 19, 1951
with the following members in attendance:
Leon W. Bateman, Chairman
Ralph H. Tucker Clarence E. Smith
Howard A. Patterson Raymond W. James
John J . Sullivan Thomas J . Donnelly, Jr.
A. W. Cleveland Leslie C. Bateman.
The minutes of the meeting held on September 11, 1951 were
presented and approved.
Superintendent Burns came in at 7:35 and explained the
reason he was asking for transfers from the Reserve Fund at this
time . For Sewer Maintenance, the amount of 3400 is needed for
maintaining pumps at the pumping station for remainder of year.
For Water Services A5000 is needed but Mr. Burns said he would
do as many as he could with a transfer of $2500. 330 services
are completed to date, 28 paid to be done and an estimate of 45
more before the end of the year. Mr. Burns left at 7:50 P.M.
It waw voted to transfer from Reserve the following accounts :
Sewer Maintenance W. & E. $ 400.00
Water Services W. & E. 2500.00
The following letter was read:
" November 14, 1951
Appropriation Committee
Town Office Building
Lexington 73, Massachusetts
Gentlemen:
We last night voted to approve for recommendation
to your Board a transfer of A2500 from the Reserve
Fund to the Water Services Account . This was a
much debated item when we were making up the budgets
last year and the two Boards cut it away down. We
have already given back 15,000 and fear that this
A2500 request will not he enough to see us through
