44 <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE <br /> APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD ON <br /> March 27, 1950 at 7:30 P. M. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Howard A. Patter- <br /> son in the office of the Town Accountant, with the following mem- <br /> bers in attendance: <br /> A. W. Cleveland Leon W. Bateman <br /> Ralph H. Tucker Emile J. Vadeboncoeur <br /> William M. Hall Thomas J. Donnelly Jr. <br /> Clarence E. Smith <br /> Frank D. Walker, Secretary <br /> Request from the Fire Dept. for transfers or for the Town Meet- <br /> ing in May of the following: <br /> Generator .90.00 <br /> Accident to Fire <br /> Alarm System 1,006.50 <br /> The question was brought up of putting the fire alarm cable under <br /> Route 128 when the Commonwealth makes the public utilities put their <br /> wires underground. <br /> It was voted to transfer from the Reserve Fund the sum of <br /> 1,006.50 to an accou }t for "Emergency Repairs to Fire Alarm System. " <br /> It was voted to advise the Board of Fire Engineers that their <br /> request for an additional appropriation would be considered again <br /> in the fall and that the Appropriation Committee would keep in mind <br /> the facts that there was turned over to the Town the sum of $490. <br /> for used cable . <br /> After discussion it was decided that there was no need for any <br /> action by this committee relative to Fire Alarm Cable under Route 128 <br /> on Bedford Street, inasmuch as the senior engineer, Mr. Houdlette, <br /> has stated that the Commonwealth will replace any existing utility. <br /> Mr. Cleveland then brought up the matter of limiting the term <br /> of office for members of the Appropriation Committee. After dis- <br /> cussing the pros and cons it was decided to sleep on it until the fall. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9:25 P. M. <br /> Respec fully submitted, <br /> Secretary <br />
