MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE <br /> APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD AT <br /> 7:30 P. M. January 30, 1950 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Howard A. Patterson <br /> in the Town Accountant' s Office, with the following members in atten- <br /> dance: <br /> A. W. Cleveland Robert W. Fawcett <br /> William M. Hall Clarence E. Smith <br /> Emile J . Vadeboncoeur Leon W. Bateman <br /> Ralph H. Tucker <br /> Frank D. Walker, Secretary <br /> The minutes of the meeting held on January 23, 1950 were presented <br /> and approved. <br /> A meeting of the Committee was held Saturday A. M. January 28 , 1950, <br /> opening at 9 :30 in the Town Accountant' s Office. Mr. DeFoe met with the <br /> Committee at this time to discuss his Capital Expenditures Budgets. The <br /> meeting adjourned at 12:15 P. M. <br /> The meeting held January 30, 1950 discussed the following Capital <br /> budgets and agreed upon the amounts as indicated with the exception of <br /> Sidewalks and Curbings and the answers on these are, according to <br /> iVir. DeFoe: <br /> Sidewalks : Not even enough money to do the jobs antici- <br /> pated. It is mostly repairing old sidewalks <br /> which are now dangerous. Actually no survey <br /> has been made. <br /> Curbings: Continue the curbing on Woburn St. to Utica St. , <br /> which was included in 1949 budget but not <br /> accomplished. ( 1,100. ) The remainder where- <br /> ver requested. <br /> From Transfer Bonding <br /> Police Cruiser 1,250. <br /> Fire-Chiefs car 1,900. <br /> Sewer ( 30 & 18) 48,000. <br /> Drain 30,000. <br /> Chapter 90 Const. 8,000. <br /> Road Machinery ( Cap) 18, 700. <br /> Sidewalks ( tentative) 6,000. <br /> Curbings ( tentative) 2,000. <br /> Recreation Committee 4,500. <br /> Water 60,000. <br /> Cemetery 1,500. <br /> Schools ( 145,000. ) 45,000. 100,000. 10 yrs. <br /> E. Lex. Fire Station 15,000. <br /> Damages Waltham St. 650. <br /> $242,500.00 <br />
