16 <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF <br /> THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD <br /> October 31, 1949 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Howard A. Patterson, <br /> in the mown Accountant' s Office with the following; members in atten- <br /> dance: <br /> A. W. Cleveland Clarence Smith <br /> Leon Bateman Emile Vadeboncoeur <br /> Tom Donnelly <br /> Frank D. 'Walker - Secretary <br /> The minutes of the meeting held. October 17, 1949 were accepted <br /> and approved. <br /> Leon Bateman gave report on radio system: Motorola - Link - <br /> Harvey Radio (R. C.A. is now 10 years old and is in old line. ) <br /> Chief Rycroft cane in to the meeting at 7:45 P.M. to discuss <br /> Article 10 (New Radio) . Left at 0:25 P.M. <br /> Letter was received from Selectmen, which follows : <br /> "Mr. Howard A. Patterson October 25, 1949 <br /> Chairman, Appropriation Committee <br /> Lexington 73, Massachusetts U <br />• Re : Law Department - Special Fees Account <br /> Dear Mr. Patterson: <br /> The Board of Selectmen voted last evening to request the <br /> Appropriation Committee to transfer the spam of 1,000. from <br /> the Reserve Fund to the above account. <br /> At the present time there is a balance of 0175. Bills have <br /> been received on the Harmon case, Chiesa claim and the hearings <br /> on the removal of gatew at the Hancock Street Railroad crossing <br /> which total 0675.00. As yet no bill has been presented by the <br /> Town Counsel on the Morey case, but it is expected that this <br /> maybe in the vicinity of X500. <br /> May we hear from you at your convenience? Thank you. <br /> Yours very truly, <br /> HAZEL J. MURRAY/S <br /> Clerk, Selectmen." <br /> It was voted to transfer 01,000. from Reserve Fund to the Law <br /> Department - Special Fees. By letter expressed idea to the Board of U <br /> Selectmen that a flat fee be established for Town Counsel. <br /> It was voted to transfer 011.79 from Reserve Fend to Assessors' . <br /> Personal Services. <br />
