Patterson, 1 <br /> in the Town Accountant' s Office with the following members in atten- <br /> dance: <br /> William M. Hall Emile J. Vadeboncoeur <br /> Clarence E. Smith A. W. Cleveland <br /> Robert W. Fawcett Leon 'ri. Bateman <br /> Frank D. 'Walker, Secretary <br /> Discussion of budgets of the following departments held joint <br /> meeting, with the Committee: <br /> Veterans Services 7:30 to 7:45 <br /> Shade Trees <br /> Moth 7:45 tp 9:00 <br /> Welfare Board 9:00 to 9:34 <br /> It was voted to thank the Board of Selectmen for use of the <br /> microphone. <br /> With reference to letter on file received from Bertram Gustin, <br /> Chairman of the Recreation Committee, the following is our reply to <br /> same: - <br /> "Mr. Bertram P . Gustin November 22, 1949 <br /> Chairman Recreation Committee <br /> Lexington, Mass . <br /> The Appropriation Committee very definitely appreciate <br /> the need for some means of protecting the surface of the <br /> tennis courts at East Lexington but we further feel as <br /> though the need for a new fence must hare been known <br /> by your Board when you requested the resurfacing of the <br /> courts to be done and that at this time the fence is not <br /> an emergency and we cannot transfer for this project. <br /> The Town Meeting m embers should vote upon this in your <br /> Capital Outlay budget. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> Secretary" <br /> Copies of letters received by Hoard of Selectmen from Board of <br /> Fire Engineers have been placed on file. <br /> It was voted the contemplated purchase of a KVA by Board of Fire <br /> Engineers was none of our business . The Committee recognize the <br /> value of their program and suggest they do this out of their own <br /> budget. <br />
