MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF 13 <br /> THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD <br /> October 10, 1949 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Howard A. Patterson, <br /> in the Town Accountant' s Office with the following members in attendance: <br /> William M. Hall Emile J. Vadeboncoeur <br /> Robert W. Fawcett Clarence L. Smith <br /> Ralph H. Tucker A. W. Cleveland <br /> Leon ".. Bateman Thomas J. Donnelley, Jr. <br /> Frank D. Walker - Secretary <br /> The minutes of the meeting held September 28, 1949 were accepted <br /> and approved. <br /> Five members are going to the dinner at the Hotel Sheraton on <br /> October 20, 1949. <br /> Letter from Selectmen requesting transfer read as follows : <br /> riMr. Howard A. Patterson October 4, 1949 <br /> Chairman, Appropriation Committee <br /> Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> Dear Mr. Patterson: <br /> The Board of Selectmen has received a request, under date of <br /> Septem)er 26, from the Board of Public Welfare as follows : <br /> "We respectfully request that the s'im of 01,500. be trans- <br /> __ <br /> ferred <br /> r- ans- <br /> ferred from the Appropriation Committee Reserve Fund to <br /> the Public Welfare Department for Aid to Dependent Children- <br /> Aid & Expenses. <br /> The sum of 014,000. was appropriated for this type of aid <br /> at the Annual Town Meeting. To date $4,738.32 has been <br /> received, as Federal Reimbursement, with an expected $1,827.72 <br /> to be received in November, making a total of $20, 566.04. <br /> Through September 30, 1949 the amount of 015,903.33 will <br /> have been expended, with an approximate amount of $5,925.00 <br /> to be spent for the balance of the year. This leaves an <br /> approximate deficit of $1,262. for the balance of the year. <br /> To care for any contingencies which may arise we suggest <br /> that an additional amount of $238. be added to make the <br /> $1,500. requested. " <br /> In accordance with the above letter, the Board of Selectmen <br /> voted to recommend to the Appropriation Committee a transfer <br /> of 01,500. from the Reserve Fund. <br /> Yours very truly, <br /> S/George Emery <br /> Chairman, Selectmen. " <br /> It was voted to transfer $1,500. from the Reserve Fund to Aid <br /> Dependent Children - Aid and Expenses. <br /> L <br />
