MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF <br /> THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE HELD <br /> May 9, 1949 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Harvey F. Wenlock, Chair- <br /> man, in the Town Accountant' s Office with the following members in <br /> attendance: <br /> Howard A. Patterson Clarence E. Smith <br /> William M. Hall A. W. Cleveland <br /> Ralph H. Tucker Thomas J. Donnelly Jr. <br /> Emile J. Vadeboncoeur Robert W. Fawcett <br /> Frank D. Walker - Secretary <br /> The first order of business was the election of Chairman, <br /> Vice-Chairman and Secretary. Mr. Howard A. Patterson, being elected <br /> unanimously, assumed the chair from retiring member and Chairman Harvey <br /> F. Winlock. William M. Hall was elected Vice Chairman and Frank D. <br /> Walker, Secretary. <br /> The Committees for the year were appointed as follows: <br /> Ralph H. Tucker <br /> Public Works - A. W. Cleveland <br /> Thomas J. Donnelly Jr. <br /> Schools and William M. Hall <br /> Libraries - Clarence E. Smith <br /> Police A. Fire Robert W. Fawcett <br /> Welfare, Veterans Emile J. Vadeboncoeur <br /> & Cemeteries - Lee E. Tarbox <br /> Minutes of the meeting held March 7, 1949 were approved as <br /> presezited. <br /> Letter from James J. Carroll, Town Clerk was read, as follows: <br /> "Town of Lexington May 9, 1949 <br /> Appropriation Committee, <br /> Frank D. Walker, Secretary. <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> At this time I would ask for a transfer of p100.00 <br /> to the account of Town Clerk-Election Expenses. Eighty-seven <br /> dollars of this amount is for the printing of the ballots for <br /> the special election held April 26, 1949 and forty-five dollars <br /> has been spent for the repairing of the Bulletin Board, Precinct <br /> Three, Meriam Street, which amount was not included in the origi- <br /> nal appropriation. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> V-S/James J.
