' 7 ri <br /> APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> DATE: January 8 , 1973 <br /> TIME: 7:30 P.M. <br /> PLACE: Town Office Building, Room 111 <br /> PRESENT: Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell, Vice <br /> Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Arthur T. <br /> Bernier, Levi G. Burnell, J. H. Blaisdell, Donald B. <br /> White <br /> OBSERVER: Cheryl Waixel, Lexington Minute-Man <br /> DISCUSSION - BUDGET <br /> a. New budget books including expense budgets <br /> (not personal services) were given to each <br /> Committee member for review. The Chairman <br /> stated that he felt the increases were entirely <br /> out of proportion. "It is up 10% and in some <br /> instances 12 to 13%" . Some increases in regard <br /> to pension and insurance may have to remain as <br /> such and be absorbed in other areas. The Board <br /> of Selectmen were in review of the Police, Fire, <br /> Department of Public Works and Library budgets. `� <br /> It is expected that the Town Manager will have <br /> all expense budgets before the Committee by <br /> January 15th. <br /> b. The Chairman mentioned that at the request of <br /> the Town Manager, the telephone company has been <br /> asked to review the Town's installations, hopefully <br /> a reduction in cost will be in line. <br /> Upon motions duly made and seconded, EXECUTIVE SESSION was VOTED <br /> at 8 :05 P.M. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION adjourned at 8:26 P.M. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M. <br /> The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 15, 1973 at <br /> 7 :30 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> r <br /> ,' L / ,f, 416, <br /> OIT <br /> Eliz' beth M.
