Crawford property <br /> Art. 26-'67 264. settlement on Laconia <br /> Street land taking <br /> upon motions duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED <br /> to approve the above requested amounts . <br /> RESERVE FUND BALANCE: as 7:30 P.M., 9/28/70 $121,300. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to <br /> approve the plan of Treasurer Zehner and the vote of the Selectmen to <br /> finance $790,000. for the Town Office Building at 4.75cg for the period <br /> of five years . <br /> Chairman Furash expressed the hope that the 1971 tax rate could be <br /> held to $66. He requested a tax comparison and estimation from Comp- <br /> troller Perry for the next meeting. He, also, stated that Appropria- <br /> tions Report and Recommendations for Town Meeting will definitely be <br /> completed by February 15, 1971. <br /> The next meeting night is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 1970. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Elizabeth M. Flynn <br /> Secretary <br /> The Appropriations Committee held a meeting at 7:30 P.M., on Monday, <br /> October 5, 1970, in the office of the Comptroller, Estabrook Hall, <br /> Lexington. Present were Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell, <br /> Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Howard L. Levingston, <br /> H. Bigelow Moore and Donald B. White. <br /> Discussion was held with respect to consolidating the Appropriation <br /> Committee' s Report. It was suggested that the detailed wording of <br /> Zoning Articles, citizen' s Articles and Conservation Articles could, <br /> perhaps, be reduced in view of the fact that the Warrant also pub- <br /> lished these in their entirety. The cost saving on the reduction of <br /> the number of pages in the Report will be investigated. <br /> The Tax Rate Comparison and Estimation prepared by Comptroller Perry <br /> was discussed. The projected tax rate is $68.60, an increase of <br /> $3.60 over the 1970 rate. Chairman Furash suggested possible areas <br />
