et 331 <br /> The Appropriations Committee held a meeting at 7:30 P.M. , on Monday, <br /> July 20, 1970, in the office of the Comptroller, Estabrook Hall, Lexing- <br /> ton. Present were Edward F. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell, Vice <br /> Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Arthur Bernier, J. Harper <br /> Blaisdell, Howard L. Levingston, H. Bigelow Moore, Richard M. Perry, Comp- <br /> troller and Donald B. White. <br /> Meeting was held at 7:145 P.M. with Walter O'Connell, Town Manager, and <br /> Erik Lund, Chairman of the Planning Board. Discussion was held as to <br /> the Planning Board' s request for an additional Planner. Mr. Lund explained <br /> that a man was to be hired by the Engineering Department and that he was <br /> to be available to the Planning Board, but, no one has been hired. He <br /> stated that even part-time help would be beneficial to the Town and would <br /> get work done. Town Manager O'Connell stated that this employment project <br /> m has changed since it was first proposed and that he cannot substantiate <br /> the first plan with the plan now proposed. Chairman Furash explained <br /> that a need for additional manpower was out of Appropriations hands until <br /> C..) next year. He also stated that if a man is hired by the Engineers he <br /> V would like a report as to how much time he gives to the Planning Board. <br /> Mr. Lund retired from the meeting at 8:00 P.M. and Mr. O'Connell retired <br /> from the meeting at 8:10 P.M. <br /> Meeting was held at 8:15 P.M. with Stanley Brown, Chairman of the Conser- <br /> vation Commission. Mr. Brown divided his presentation into 7 parts, as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. STATUS OF CONSERVATION PROJECTS: <br /> 1970 Art. #79 Juniper Hill nothing to report on <br /> easement <br /> Art. #93 Drummer Boy in hands of Town Counsel <br /> Art. #94 Justin & Eldred option on Wilson' s, but <br /> none on Busa or Frissore <br /> 1969 Art. #69 Hinds Prop. nothing to report <br /> Art. #70 Crawford Prop. nothing to report <br /> Art. #73 Caldwell-Busa eminent domain-options <br /> have lapsed dug, to sewer <br /> problems on Hines and Verdone <br /> Art. #75) Vine Brook the C .C . has tried for ease- <br /> 82) easements ments or gifts from 3 or 4 <br /> 83) owners for a walk-way but <br /> they are not interested un- <br /> til the brook is cleaned up <br /> Art., #76 Modoono Town Counsel <br /> Art . #77 Grapevine lots nothing to report <br /> 1968 Art. # 9 <br /> 56 Steeves prop. the title is not clear and <br /> Town Counsel feels it <br /> should be taken by eminent <br /> domain <br />
