,d o <br /> The Appropriations Committee held a meeting at 7:30 P.M., on Monday, <br /> May 11, 1970, in the office of the Comptroller, Town Office Building, <br /> Lexington. Present were Arthur Bernier, J. H. Blaisdell, Levi G. <br /> Burnell, Edward E. Furash, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Howard Levingston, <br /> Jack L. Mitchell, H. Bigelow Moore, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller and <br /> Donald B. White. New members Bernier and Levingston were welcomed. <br /> Committee Elections: Nominations having been made and seconded, upon <br /> motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED that the following members <br /> serve as Officers for the 1970-71 term: <br /> Chairman: Edward E. Furash <br /> Vice-Chairman: Jack L. Mitchell <br /> Secretary: Elizabeth M. Flynn <br /> Discussion was held as to the advisability of paying Mood 600. to <br /> V have the Town rated with respect to bonding, the intent o request an <br /> L.? early 1971 bud etre ort from the Librar and HB 1282, double pay for <br /> Fire an< Po ice c iwhich was vetoeddby Governor Sargent. <br /> Discussion was also held on minor changes in the Budget Form. It was <br /> agreed that a cross-wise set-up allowing extra columns for changes and <br /> a column for the annual wage would be helpful to the Committee. <br /> With respect to the School De•artment Out-of-State P. S. Budget, which <br /> is large, it was agree. to at emp o ge a repor as to the value of <br /> their trips well in advance of Town Meeting. The School Committee <br /> has again been advised that a study of School bussing properly belongs <br /> with their Committee and not with Appropriations. <br /> A meeting with the Town Meeting Members Association was planned to be <br /> scheduled far in advance of Town Meeting to inform TMis and other <br /> Town Boards of Appropriations views with respect to tax policy. <br /> Upon advice of Town Counsel Legro, upon motion duly made and seconded, <br /> it was again VOTED to approve the VOTE made on May 14, 1970 to trans- <br /> fer to the Selectmen from the Reserve Fund the sum of 41,000. <br /> The next meeting night was not scheduled at this time, but the regular <br /> schedule of meetings will begin on the first Monday after Labor Day. <br /> Meetings during the summer months will be held if a request for a <br /> Reserve Fund transfer is made. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> ie_re>// 14/2,„ <br /> Elizabeth M.
