. <br /> Meeting of the Appropriation Committee, Monday, November 25, 1968, 7:30 p.m. <br /> Present: D. Grant, Chairman; J. Blaisdell; R. Gary; R. Perry, Comptroller: <br /> D. White; L. Zehner; R. Souza <br /> Reserve Fund Requests <br /> Structure of Government Committee request has been reduced to $1500 <br /> because of savings to be made in printing costs. Voted to transfer $1500. <br /> Selectmen request $210 to supplement appropriation of June Town Meeting <br /> to pay for an award of damages for rights for the layout of Laconia St. <br /> Voted to transfer $210. <br /> Selectmen's election account #1900 was overspent because of the special <br /> election on the dog leash law. $225 is needed. Voted to transfer $225. <br /> Lrj <br /> �--I TMMA Meeting - Information meeting on finances will be held Dec. 4th. <br /> Selectmen, Capital Expenditures Committee and Appropaiation. Committee will <br /> participate. <br /> Warrant for March Town Meeting to close Dec. 13. <br /> Committee discussed the advisability of requesting an Article establishing <br /> a Personnel Committee. Town Manager act would place the responsibility <br /> for classifying employees on the Manager. It was thought better not to <br /> propose such an Article this year in the hope that the Town Manager <br /> plan is voted. If Town Manger is voted down, Personnel Board should be <br /> proposed as soon as possible. <br /> Data Processing - Dick Perry's committee will request permission to <br /> continue the study until 1970. <br /> Conservation Commission - Don Grant has talked to Mr. Sussman and Mr. Smith. <br /> $635,000 will be proposed. <br /> Selectman Cataldo wants plan money for Town Office, probably $25,000. <br /> Planning Board has a list of 19 parcels, totalling $550,000, which <br /> it recommends that the Town buy for conservation purposes. These include <br /> Additions to the West Farm <br /> Hayden Woods (5 parcels) <br /> Worthen Road land next to apartments <br /> Grapevine Ave. <br /> Vinebrook <br /> Grant Street <br /> Theyx would like to bond $500,000 and put $50,000 on tax levy. <br /> In addition to these parcels, on which Conservation Commission and Planning <br /> Board are in agreement, there are three items totalling $63,000 which <br /> Conservation Comm. recommends. <br /> Request a list of land purchased under Conservation, reimbursements <br /> received, and purchases which are pending. <br /> Recreation Committee wants $46,000 for <br /> 2 tennis courts at Harrington <br /> Drainage <br /> 2 tennis courts at Center Playground <br /> Valleyfield as neighborhood play lot <br /> Backstop at Estabrook School <br /> Appropriation Committee budget - agreed to request $3470 <br /> Selectmen's Meeting - discussed work sheet on tax rate estimates. <br /> Cherry sheet estimate is down 10f because of Welfare <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Ruth F.
