Rawls Lincoln St. site discussed - CEC does not disagree with estimates of cost but will recommend deferment of project until an adequate engineering survey has been done to show that the land has settled; up to $15,000 would be recommended for such a survey. High School Parking Lot - disapproved until a comprehensive plan for the whole area around Worthen Rd. is available. Article 56 - Lloyd land - Owner wants $84,000 for an area 2 acres smaller than he was willing to sell for $65,000 last year. Recommend 57,500 Art. 61 $23,500 requested Art. 68 $14,000 requested CEC recommends for 1969. Unfavorable this year. Sewers - Not in favor of refilling Selectmen's fund. Committees agreed in their understanding that this had been a one-year appropriation, allowing Selectmen flexibility, ; they had anticipated it would be refilled annually from the usual budget allowed fxmaxxvw for sewers, not be a yearly addition to that budget. CEC approved Great Meadow land purchase; otherwise committees were in agreement on capital items. Planning Board Items - discussed with Mrs. Riffin, Chairman of Ping. Bd. Art. 56 - Planning Bd. agrees on $57,500 recommendation Arts. 59, 60, and 61 to be postponed. Art. 62 - Hartwell Ave. triangle - Ping. Bd. would like to add to cemetery and landscape to form a buffer between industry and cemetery and widening of Hartwell Ave. - Bedford St. Art. 68 514,000 Planning Board favors Art. 69 - Utica St. 550,000, Vinebrook $15,000 - Planning Board total recommended is $65,000 (appraised figure?) to be taken by eminent domain; Appropriation Ctee. figure approved is $110,000. Conservation Commission does not have appraisal, but base estimate on $4000/A; have no option, but owner will sell for that. Art. 90 - Planning Bd. recommends against this, too. Lincoln St. Planning Bd. does go along with 4 step development, starting this year. Schools need 3 to 4 playing fields. Stage 1 - 12A $150,000, Stage 2 - 5 A $78,000, Stage 3 - 92 A $100,000, Stage 4 - 5 A $70,000; Total cost for development of 312 Acres is $398,000.
