4 3 <br /> Appropriation Committee Meeting, January 25, 1966 <br /> Meeting was called to order by temporary Chairman Clarke at 7:45 p.m. <br /> Budget Discussion: #4300 — Civil Defense — motion passed to cut <br /> $3,142 from Personal Services; expense budget to be further discussed <br /> with Mr. Burrell. <br /> 8:10 p.m. — visit with Recreation Committee: Messrs. Bertini, Hayes, <br /> and Kelly; question on expanded program for retarded children <br /> (enrolment has increased from 20 to 28 children and they are bringing <br /> pro, ram more in line with that offered other children) — Discussion <br /> of future plans for major playground next to Harrington School -- Mr. <br /> �..{ Noyes suggests possibility of exploring comparative municipal recreation <br /> 117) costs to accompany future budget requests -- General discussion on <br /> +—� future capital expenses of recreation -- Recreation Budgets approved <br /> as submitted. <br /> Mr. Parrish informs that the School Committee will return $186,166 to <br /> Town as follows: $23,406 from Title 3, $22,885 from Title 5, and <br /> $139,886 from P.L. 874. <br /> 9:45 p.m. Meeting with Board of Selectmen -- $1,000 salary for Guide <br /> Director accepted -- Salary of Planning Director to be further <br /> reviewed -- general discussion on Police Department and necessity of <br /> new police officers. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. — Present were Messrs.
