SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> Present: Superintendent Lawson <br /> Patricia Swanson <br /> Kenneth Hoffman <br /> Jean Gaudet <br /> John McInnes <br /> The following points were discussed: <br /> 1. Chairman White stated he would like to see a "zero" <br /> base budget: <br /> 2. Mrs. Swanson pointed out that due to the extensive <br /> amount of time spent on the Parket School closing <br /> issue , the School Committee was not as far along as they <br /> would have liked to be with their budget. <br /> 3. Dr. Lawson stated that until negotiations are over, they <br /> will not know exactly what the increase is going to be. <br /> 4. Schools work on a Sept.-June year. <br /> 5. $135, 000 out of personal services due to the closing of <br /> Parker School - $153,438 reduction of staff -- $300,000 <br /> savings. <br /> 6. Reduction of 24-25 positions. <br /> 7. Athletic budget to decrease $15,000. <br /> 8.
