Chairman Furash asked the Committee to make note of the following <br /> dates: <br /> Town Meeting - March 22, 1976 <br /> Report in Mail - March 8 , 1976 <br /> Report in Print - March 5 , 1976 <br /> Report Completion - February 16-21, 1976 <br /> II. PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> The Chairman reported his comments following a meeting with <br /> Messrs. Butler, Chapman: <br /> 1. Chairman Furash was not happy at all with this meeting <br /> and does not want to go ahead with a by-law board. <br /> 2. The issue is not another Board. Harassment is not going <br /> to do it. <br /> 3. We are not going to be able to accept the proposals from <br /> the Board and the Town Manager on the increases in manpower. <br /> Common sense says we have to cut some things . <br /> III. GENERAL DISCUSSION <br /> a. Mr. Blaisdell made the following comments re budget figures: <br /> 1. What do we want to do with the tax rate? <br /> 2. What can we allow for an increase? <br /> 3. Numbers are very discouraging. They are the same <br /> as they were before Town Manager time. <br /> b. Estimated Tax Rate - $6. 00 <br /> General Government - 7% <br /> School - 6 1/2 -7% (1 mil) <br /> Voc. School - Stable <br /> Expense Budget - 7% <br /> Debt Ant. - Standard <br /> Debt Reduction - down $100 ,000 <br /> Art IV - 1 mil - $400 ,000 over last year. <br />
