LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS <br /> A communication from the League inviting the committee members <br /> cn to attend meetings on land use. <br /> II. APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE BUDGET <br /> A preliminary budget of $4 , 060 was submitted by Secretary Richard <br /> M. Perry. This is increased due to postage and anticipated increase <br /> in printing. The Committee VOTED to turn down increased budget <br /> and will accept same budget as last year of $3800. <br /> III. ASSOCIATION OF TOWN FINANCE COMMITTEES <br /> Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 25 , 1975. Messrs . Hall and <br /> Blaisdell are to attend. <br /> IV. SCHOOLS <br /> a. Donald White was given folder on proposed school closings. <br /> b. Donald White to attend November 25th meeting of Regional <br /> Vocational High School Sub-Committee of Finances . <br /> Upon motions duly made and seconded the <br /> above were VOTED. <br /> V. PURCHASING PROCEDURES <br /> Richard M. Perry made the following points re the above subject: <br /> 1. All departments are allowed to purchase up to $100. 00 on their <br /> own except for DPW and that is $500 . 00 . <br /> 2. L.E. Muran, Co. , of Boston gives 25% discount. A check is <br /> made periodically to make sure that their prices are cheapest. <br /> 3. Forms ordered from the State are charged via the Cherry Sheet - <br /> $1, 000 per year approximately. <br /> 4. Department head has the responsibility of the order and the <br /> receipt of each order placed. Even on purchase of $100 to $2, 000 <br /> department head should get competitive price. <br /> 5. Up to $2 , 000 can be spent without a bid -- if $2 ,000 or over that <br /> amount, proposals from two or more parties is necessary. <br />
