147 <br /> APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> DATE: March 29, 1975 <br /> TIME: 7:30 P.M. <br /> PRESENT: Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, <br /> Donald B. White, Vice Chairman-Schools, Martin A. Gilman, <br /> Arthur T. Bernier, Patricia K. Hagedorn, Howard L. <br /> Levingston, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller <br /> - PLACE: Board of Selectmen Meeting Room <br /> Present: A. Kenney, M. Battin, A. Busa, H. Kassler, <br /> F. Bailey, Town Manager O'Connell <br /> DISCUSSED: <br /> 1. Article 17 - Drains - G. Martin of Engineering Department <br /> presented information; (a) estimate to do Fletcher Avenue <br /> is $25,000, (b) Wood Street $16,000 - Amount to be reduced <br /> here. <br /> 2. Article 23 - IFF Study - To be indefinitely postponed. <br /> May be done "in house" starting next year or two. Possibly <br /> some study costs such as equipment rental etc. , in Article <br /> IV. Chairman Furash stated he felt this could be placed <br /> in DPW budget. Selectmen will postpone. <br /> 3. Article 41 - Tropeano Land - Will be indefinitely postponed. <br /> 4. Article 44 - Napoli Land - Includes 12 house lots on frontage <br /> street ( 5 on one and 7 on another) . There is probably 20 <br /> house lots in total here. Conservation Commission have <br /> agreed offer for $200,000 plus wiping out $6,000 betterments - <br /> This is to be discussed further. <br /> 5. Article 4 & 5 - Unratified settlement with DPW, Police and <br /> Fire. Union officials should report results next week. <br /> 6. The amount of $2,000 for Hanscom Study is to be included <br /> in Article 4 - Account 1090. <br /> 7. Verbally agreed that Town Meetingswill run next three <br /> Mondays, March 31, April 7 and 14. Board of Selectmen and <br /> Appropriation Committee to meet next Saturday morning at <br /> 9:15 A.M. - April 5, 1975. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Elitabeth M.
