White, Vice Chairman- <br /> Schools, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. H. Blaisdell, <br /> Howard L. Levingston, Martin A. Gilman, Richard M. <br /> Perry, Comptroller <br /> I. PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> a. Paul Sidman has resigned due to outside responsibilities. <br /> b. Mr. Edward Bograd, 18 Hilltop Avenue, Attorney has been <br /> recommended. <br /> c. ADL Study is approximately one month behind. <br /> e. Staffing for personnel officer is still in progress. <br /> f. Chairman Furash asked for a firm recommendation re the <br /> amount necessary for legal counsel by February 10, 1975. <br /> g. Mr. Chapman stated the great need for strength in top <br /> management. <br /> h. Amount of time Town Manager devotes to Collective Bargaining <br /> and labor relations is one third. <br /> i. Neil Chapman stated that the Department Heads should be <br /> motivated in a greater way. <br /> j. Mr. Chapman is going to make a presentation on just what <br /> the goals of the Town are prior to Town Meeting. <br /> k. Conservation - there is the need for help here - a good <br /> senior type person. <br /> 1. Police Personnel - review of the policy and results to <br /> date of the cadets program. We are not sure this has been <br /> successful, Chairman Furash stated. Mr. Chapman stated <br /> that Chief Corr's performance was excellent in the form <br /> of standards. <br /> II. APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE. <br /> It was suggested by the Chairman that the term of office should <br /> be changed and not have it end with the completion of Town Meeting. <br /> This matter is to be discussed at a later date. <br /> III . BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> 1. 14% too high on non-controllables. <br /> 2. cut down on conventions and out-of-state travel. <br /> 3. What is status of Recreation; i.e. , pool filter, J. Mitchell <br /> will attend meeting on Monday January 20th re this subject. <br /> 4. Cars - can we pass up the purchase of new cars this year? <br /> 5. Air Conditioning of cars? <br /> 6. Can water meter car be changed to a lighter car rather than <br /> a heavy one? <br /> 7. What is extent of Fire Alarm Maintenance Program?
