Bernier, Martin Gilman, <br /> Howard L. Levingston, Patricia Hagedorn, Richard M. <br /> Perry, Comptroller <br /> I . FIRE DEPT. <br /> a. Due to the retirement of Chief Spellman on January 6, 1975, <br /> there is expected to be a reshuffle of personnel. <br /> b. Meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 1974 at Arthur Bernier's <br /> house re ambulance . <br /> II . SCHOOLS <br /> a. Mr. White stated that there is a possibility of a capital <br /> outlay program due re the closing of some schools. School <br /> Committee is open for any suggestions and/or opinions. <br /> b. Vocational High School - budget is not yet finalized. <br /> There is an over-balance of handicapped here . This has <br /> not been done intentionally however it has happened and <br /> it is going to be costly. <br /> III . CABLE TV <br /> Chairman Furash stated that he felt the letter drafted the <br /> previous week to Selectman Kenney should be ammended. After <br /> discussing the matter with the Committee it was felt that the <br /> letter should remain the same . Mr. Levingston made the following <br /> points : a great job was done in trying to sell Cable TV ; <br /> Selectmen should have job of awarding contracts ; the Town, I <br /> feel, is not ready to become involved in this. <br /> IV.CONSERVATION <br /> Town Counsel Cohen joined the meeting to discuss various <br /> Conservation matters. Some Towns have funded Conservation, i.e. , <br /> Lincoln, Weston. Borrowing for Conservation land is a very <br /> complicated process Mr. Cohen explained. <br /> Chairman Furash made the following points : <br /> a. We must fact some facts -- Conservation <br /> is heavily resisted by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> b. Which way is the cheapest way to finance? <br /> c. The Town has never really agreed on what <br /> the definition of Conservation land is? <br /> d. What do we want the Town to look like in a <br /> few years? <br />
