He stated that he was <br /> very pleased with the way things were progressing, however, <br /> it was late in time , and the necessity to cut the budget <br /> was still a very lar�e factor. Chairman Bertchl�ld stated -- <br /> that she hoped further cuts could be made and a firm figure <br /> shou].d be available by Saturday. ahe too realized that they <br /> �ot a rather late start and so hoped this could be avoided <br /> next year. Lon '�lhite asked if it would be possible to �ive <br /> a "lum� sum" �ud�et exclusive of out-of-state travel. <br /> Chairman Furash did not a�ree completely with this as he <br /> felt it mi�ht appear that a "fast one" i� being pulled. <br /> l�"rs . Swanson stated that she felt the School Committee would <br /> do their best to cut the bud�;et down. In view of this <br /> Chairman White said if that be the case the Appropriation <br /> Committee would g;ive them full support at Town �leeting. <br /> Two areas of further study are : a) supplies , b) capital <br /> outlay. <br /> RES�RVL FIII�I7 <br /> The School Committee asked the Appronriation Con�mittee if <br /> a Reserve rund of �100,000 for unforseen tuitions could be <br /> set up. Chairman �'urash stated that he saw no reason why <br /> this could not be done, hawever, i4:r. Ferry is to look into <br /> the le�al end of this Fund. <br /> Chapter 766 was discussed briefly and the matter of new <br /> evaluations was brou�;ht up by :�`ir� Fobert. - <br />
