Flynn, Secretary <br /> Donald B. White, Vice Chairman, Arthur T. Bernier, J. H. <br /> Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Patricia K. Hagedorn, Howard L. <br /> Levingston, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller <br /> OBSERVER: Mrs . Daggett-League of Women Voters <br /> I . MINUTEMAN VOCATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL BUDGET <br /> The following points were made regarding the above : <br /> a. It will cost $3800 per student reduced $500 by reimbursement. <br /> b. 450 students first year. <br /> c. Four towns have formed an advisory committee to see if some- <br /> thing can be taken out of present budget. <br /> d. There has been a staff of 9 professional people set up to get <br /> things going. <br /> e. Computer still under discussion. <br /> f. Chairman Furash emphasized that the price per pupil will <br /> have to be clarified. <br /> g. Advised by Superintendent that it is impossible to set up an <br /> 1800 per pupil school with only four classes. <br /> h. Vice Chairman White stated that the Committee would like to <br /> see the 4 years condensed into something less than that and <br /> whether this is advisable or not is still under question. <br /> i. Chairman Furash stated that it is a possibility that the School <br /> could be overstaffed judging from the number of students it <br /> may have and is it also possible to start leaner than is planned <br /> at this time? <br /> j . The explicit cost of operating this system must be known the <br /> Chairman pointed out -- it sounds like more than we can now <br /> afford. <br /> k. School will be on a 12 month period -- 1975 will start summer <br /> courses. <br /> 1. Exportable Education Programs are being looked into. Chairman <br /> Furash feels that these programs do not have to be done in order <br /> to achieve a good program. <br /> m. Phamplets going out week of December 17th to all 8th grade students. <br /> March 1, 1974 is cut-off date for applications. 20% of quota will <br /> be filled by recommendations from school systems and the other <br /> 80% by lottery. <br /> II . CORRESPONDENCE <br /> a. Memo received from Mystic Valley Mental Health Center Assn. , Inc. -- <br /> stating a 50 increase -- $26,730 to $28,200. <br />
