BI-CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE - Kinston Howard, Chairman, Richard <br /> Michelson, Frederic James, Tony Mancini, Alan Adams, Steve Politi <br /> Chairman Kinston Howard stated that his budget of $50,000 remained <br /> the same and he asked just what it was that the Appropriation <br /> Committee did not go along with. Chairman Furash stated he <br /> wondered if the Committee knew exactly what the citizens of <br /> the town expected in the way of a celebration and that the <br /> program does not have a comprehensive management to it. The <br /> Chairman also stated that he felt the Bi-Centennial Committee <br /> was expecting a programatic decision here and this would not <br /> be possible , as we can only take the program provided and make <br /> our own evaluation. We cannot put a program in motion which <br /> the Town Meeting has not voted for. <br /> Lincoln Cole , Jr. , stated that he felt the program was building <br /> every week and that outsiders were coming with very valued <br /> suggestions and that this was not just a one-day affairs <br /> It was mentioned by Chairman Howard that there was a very good <br /> possibility of a major corporation in Lexington providing the <br /> Committee with full time secretarial help as their contribution <br /> to the Bi-Centennial and also that Federal Funds may be in <br /> order. <br /> Chairman Furash suggested that we meet with the Bi-Centennial <br /> Committee again prior to Town. Meeting. <br /> III . Board of Selectmen: A. Kenney, Chairman, N. Riffin, A. Busa <br /> S. Brown, Town Manager O'Connell, Town Counsel, N. Cohen <br /> The following items were discussed: <br /> a. Recreation - cut $9,000 <br /> Elimination of Planning Estabrook Program <br /> and Munroe Tot Program. <br /> Approved at $93,000. <br /> b. Insurance - still in disagreement. <br /> c . Re-classification of DPW - This program was <br /> again reviewed briefly by Town Manager O'Connell. <br /> This being such a complex program, it is not <br /> Possible to decide on such short notice . Further <br /> discussion necessary. <br /> IV. BONDING <br /> A short session was held with Town Counsel Cohen to discuss <br /> the best ways in which to bond: <br /> 1. Sewers - change to Sanitary Sewers <br /> $50,000 <br /> 1 <br />
