APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 2003, 7:30 PM, ROOM 111 <br /> Present: D Brown, P Hamburger, E Michelson, R Eurich, R Pawliczek, J Ryan <br /> • Discussed and worked on the draft letter to the BOS in an attempt to frame the <br /> budget discussions for both Fiscal 2004 and 2005 <br /> • Suggested changes made. D Brown will revise and prepare for distribution to the <br /> BOS and subsequently to the SC, CEC and TMMA <br /> • Motion: D Brown will finalize input received and send the document to the <br /> BOS. Unanimous <br /> • General discussion of the provisions in Chapter 46 of the Acts of 2003, <br /> specifically the Early Retirement Incentive (ERI) and the"Pension Holiday" <br /> provision. <br /> • D Brown announced that R White will attend our next meeting on September 4, <br /> 2003 and will be prepared to discuss almost anything. <br /> • J Ryan informed the AC that he, Mike DiPietro, David Eisenthal, and Rick White <br /> had a telephone conversation with Moodys' Investors this afternoon. Moodys' <br /> had called a few weeks ago and wanted to discuss our situation subsequent to the <br /> override failure. After the conversation they indicated that we seemed to have <br /> things pretty well planned and that we would retain our rating. They will check <br /> back in late fall after we conclude the Special Town Meeting. <br /> • Next meeting, Thursday, September 4, 2003. <br /> Ac.08.21.03 <br />
