APPROPaRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING
APRIL 2, 2003,NATIONAL HERITAGE MUSEUM, 7:00 P.M.
Present:
D Brown, K Dooks, E Michelson, R Pawliczek, S Spector, R Eurich, A Nedzel, A
Levine, P Hamburger, J Ryan
• Discussion of amendments to Article 4 adding weekly recycling and web site
support. If these two items are added to the override the amount will then exceed
$5 million. BOS are apparently receiving feedback on the proposed amendments.
• Discussed proposed amendment to Article 4 being presented by L Wood. AC
needs to discuss at a later meeting. Concern that it has come too late in the
process.
• Discussed Minuteman Regional Vocational assessment.
• D Brown is scheduled to meet with R White and L McSweeney tomorrow.
• AC needs to spend some time discussing the report being presented by Paul
Lapointe on the DPW Facility and Senior Center.
• E Michelson discussed the resolution enacted by Town Meeting regarding the use
of C. 90 funds for purposes other than road repair. Town has expended $15,790
for the removal of gasoline tanks from behind the police station.
• Motion: AC will report to the Town Meeting on this expenditure of C. 90 funds.
Unanimous
• Discussed possible override scenarios. Override could exceed $5 million with
weekly recycling and web site support additions. Cuts could be made in a similar
amount in order to keep the override at $4,957,000. Or a combination of additions
and deletions.
Ac.04.02.2003
