APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2002-LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL 6:00 PM <br /> Present: <br /> P Hamburger, A Levine, R Pawliczek, S Spector, K Dooks, R Eurich, E Michelson, A <br /> Nedzel, J Ryan <br /> • General discussion of the Special Town Meeting assignments <br /> • D Brown will be responsible for the Street Repaving <br /> • Conservation land purchase will be IP <br /> • A Levine will be responsible for the Lincoln Park Field Renovations. The <br /> Recreation Committee has indicated that they will contribute $50,000 per year <br /> towards the debt service. AC wants the contribution to be $100,00 per year or <br /> approximately 45% (equal to non-school usage). <br /> • MOTION: Recreation Committee to contribute $50,000 per year. Failed 8 to 1. <br /> • MOTION: Recreation Committee to contribute $75,000 per year. Failed 6 to 3. <br /> • MOTION: Recreation Committee to contribute $100,000 per year passed 7 to 2. <br /> • General discussion of the capital costs at the Diamond Middle School. A Levine <br /> stated that he thought that the AC and others could contribute to the drafting of <br /> the RFP for the study at the High School. <br /> • MOTION: support both requests at the Diamond and High School. Unanimous. <br /> • General discussion of the elementary school project. <br /> • General discussion of Article 4. AC agrees that only$30,000 be put up as seed <br /> money for the trolley system this year. Need to limit Town's liability. Unanimous <br /> opposition to the $20,000 request for trees. PAYT suggestion that there be 52 free <br /> bags had no support. <br /> • General discussion of Article 28. Should this be an AC Article? Unanimous <br /> opinion that this be an AC Article and unanimous support of the article. <br /> • General discussion of the unbundled debt exclusion vote. AC will defer to BOS. <br /> • Meeting scheduled for March 21, 2002 is cancelled. <br /> Ac.03.19.2002 <br />
