APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2002,ROOM 111, 7:30 PM <br /> Present: <br /> P Hamburger, R Pawliczek, A Levine, D Brown, S Spector, R Eurich, E Michelson, K <br /> Dooks, A Nedzel, J Ryan <br /> • MOTION: Approve minutes of February 13, 2002. Unanimous. <br /> • Next meeting C will need to take position on articles. <br /> • General discussion on preparing the AC Report to Town Meeting. Keep <br /> appendices in the same order as last year. Will assist in comparisons. <br /> • Discussion of the Special Town Meeting. <br /> • MOTION: Support Road Reconstruction ($7,000,000). Unanimous. <br /> • Conservation Land Purchase to be determined later. <br /> • Lincoln Park Fields ($3,400,000). General discussion of the Recreation <br /> Committee committing funds to offset some of the cost. If the Recreation <br /> Committee makes no commitment the AC will not support. The fields are used by <br /> the schools (55%) and private organizations (45%). <br /> • General discussion of the Secondary School Project at the Diamond Middle <br /> School and High School. R Eurich attempting to gather more information. <br /> • Elementary School Project(Harrington/Fiske). Unanimous support <br /> • General discussion of Article 4. E Michelson discussed the MMRVHS request. P <br /> Hamburger discussed health insurance and the reduction in the Interest on <br /> Temporary Loans requirement due to the very favorable interest rates receive on <br /> the BAN's issued in February. <br /> • MOTION: Support Article 33. Use of Funds to reduce the Tax rate. Unanimous <br /> • MOTION; Support Article 8. Capital Projects and Equipment. Unanimous. <br /> • MOTION: Support Article 9. Water Distribution System, Unanimous. <br /> • MOTION: Support Article 10. School Technology. Unanimous. <br /> • MOTION; Support Article 11. School Capital Project. Unanimous <br /> • MOTION: AC does not support the Computerized Public Tree Inventory. <br /> Unanimous <br /> • Article 13 Muzzey high Condominium Repairs. Pending <br /> • Article 14 Amend Quitclaim Deed-Muzzey High Condominium. No funds <br /> requested therefore no AC recommendation. <br /> • General discussion of Article 28, Resolution-Use of Appropriated Funds. <br /> Question as to whether this should be an AC Article. P Hamburger will discuss <br /> with the Moderator. Motion: Approve Article 28. Unanimous. <br /> Ac.02.28.2002 <br />
