APPROPRAITION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, JANUARY 17, 2002, ROOM 111 @ 7:45 P.M. <br /> Present: P Hamburger, R Pawliczek, D Brown, K Dooks, A Levine, E Michelson, R <br /> Eurich, and J Ryan <br /> Also Present: R DiGiammarino, G Burnell <br /> • Minutes not available from previous meetings <br /> • Discussion of Summit IV, which took place on January 16th. Discussed the <br /> proposed "gap"reduction as presented by the Town Manager. The proposed"free <br /> cash" solution is to leave the 2002 Annual Town Meeting with the same balance <br /> as we left the 2001 Annual Town Meeting(use approximately$367,000 of <br /> additional free cash to balance the FY 03 budget request. <br /> • R DiGiammarino discussed the supplemental request being made by the SC for <br /> additional work required at the Diamond Middle School. The SC has been <br /> ordered by the Special Education Appeals Board to make modifications for <br /> ambient noise at the Diamond Middle School. The work will consist of 5 <br /> classrooms and an additional 5 support rooms (i.e.: art, music etc.) The estimated <br /> cost for design and construction is $ 1 million. <br /> • General discussion of the proposed elementary renovation/new project. <br /> • CEC will be asking the proponents of the Lincoln Field improvements to attend a <br /> meeting to discuss their proposal.
