APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2001 7:45 PM <br /> Present: P Hamburger, R Pawliczek, A Levine, E Michelson, S Spector, D Brown, R <br /> Eurich, K Dooks <br /> Also present: G Burnell, T Griffiths <br /> * ATFC Meeting coming up November 3. <br /> * Discussion and re-working of memo to school committee—D Brown to make changes <br /> and circulate to App. Comm., Sch. Comm., Capital. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous approval of memo to Sch. Comm.,with changes discussed. <br /> * Discussion of whether Committee should take up, make recommendation on all issues <br /> related to question of 1 swing space vs. 2: financial, equity, educational, etc. <br /> DECISION: P Hamburger wig work with G Burnell on financial impacts of 1 <br /> swing space vs. report back to Sch. Comm. on financial issues ONLY. P <br /> Hamburger wil Wch. Comm. to provide rationale on other issues (equity, <br /> educational goals). <br /> * Discussion of Depot Square, question of mechanism by which Town money was <br /> appropriated. E Michelson reported that estimated $189,000 of Chapt. 90 money will be <br /> spent on Depot Sq. by end of project. Total project will be$850,000 -$950,000(not <br /> including train station—separate project). E Michelson to do further research re <br /> appropriation at prior TMs and f cavi t back to Committee. <br /> * P Hamburger reported on Medical Insurance. Actual expenses over ls`4 mos. Iess than <br /> corresponding period last year,but Kevin's projections are still higher. P Hamburger to <br /> follow up. <br /> * P. Hamburger reported on Planning Board Comp. Plan. <br /> * P. Hrger reported on Gang of 8 budgeting. He presented 2003 projections at <br /> today' meeting. <br /> * Next meeting November 8, 2001. <br />
