APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> MONDAY,MAY 14, 2001, 7:15 P.M. <br /> MUSEUM OF OUR NATIONAL HERITAGE <br /> Present: P Hamburger, E Michelson, D Brown, R Eurich, K Dooks, S Spector, R <br /> Pawliczek, A Levine, A Nedzel, J Ryan <br /> • Bids for the Cary Library renovation have been opened and the estimated cost of <br /> the project is $15.1 million <br /> • Library will make a presentation this evening with a vote being taken on <br /> Wednesday, May 16, 2001 <br /> • Options are: reject all bids, Foundation raise an additional $ 2 million (total of$ 7 <br /> million), town raise its contribution by$2.3 million, have the Town contribute an <br /> additional $1.3 million with the Foundation raising it's contribution by$1 million, <br /> stop the project <br /> • Increases are due to market forces and complexities in a historic building. <br /> • AC supports PAYT (6-2) reaffirms a previous vote. <br /> • Sara Chase, Planning Board Member, explained why the Planning Board is <br /> against the possible cut of an intern from their budget request. <br /> • Patrick Maher discussed the Tree By-law. <br /> ac.05.14.01 <br />
