APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 14, 2000, ROOM 105 <br /> Present: P Hamburger,R Pawliczek, R Eurich,A Levine, S Spector, A, Nedzel, <br /> D Brown,J Ryan <br /> Absent: E Michelson <br /> • P Hamburger announced that C Welch has resigned. Discussed possible <br /> replacements <br /> • Minutes of August 10, 2000 approved <br /> • Discussion of FY 01 Cherry Sheet <br /> • Discussed the change in the FY 01 Chapter 70 distribution and that fact that <br /> $142,100 of Chapter 70 funds is available for the School Department subject to <br /> their requesting the funds. No Town Meeting approval required. The School <br /> Department is currently reviewing their FY 01 budget in order to determine <br /> whether they will require the additional funds. <br /> • Discussed the increase in Racial Equality reimbursement in FY 01. The FY 01 <br /> estimate is an increase of$309,730 over the FY 00 estimate. These funds are an <br /> "offset" and not subject to appropriation. <br /> • ATFC Annual Meeting October 28, 2000. Notify J Ryan if you plan on <br /> attending. <br /> • A Levine discussed "pay as you throw". SWAT will recommend that we proceed <br /> with the program. Attempt to generate 30-50%of refuse disposal costs. <br /> • P Hamburger stated that he felt that the program, if instituted, should be <br /> revenue neutral. <br /> • Next meting, Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 7:45 <br /> Ac.09.14.00 <br />
