APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> THURSDAY,NOVEMBER 13, 1997 <br /> COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE, 7:30 PM <br /> Present: P Lapointe, R Pawliczek, S Coit,R Borghesani,P Hamburger, I Mroczkowsi, A <br /> Levine, J Ryan <br /> Absent: R Colwell <br /> • Discussion as to whether the AC should take a position on the zoning article. AC will <br /> take position due to tax impact <br /> • Discussion of the Cary Library which will be up for reconsideration <br /> • Discussion of Selectmen Gift Accounts and the fact that they are not subject to <br /> appropriation <br /> • Discussed the contributions in the past to the Library Century Fund <br /> • Notification that there will be a discussion group meeting re: the override. Monday <br /> 11/17 @ 9:30 am in the Senior Center. On 11/18 at the Harrington School there will <br /> be a joint meeting of the SC, BOS, AC and CEC. <br /> • Discussed the FY 99 budget process and identified the following as areas that need to <br /> be reviewed: capital budgeting, PILOTS, revenue projections, MMRVHS, enterprise <br /> funds <br /> • The LWV will conduct a forum re: override on 11/20 and S Coit will sit on the panel <br /> as a representative of the AC <br /> • Arlington has filed a homerule petition,which would exempt them from having to <br /> adhere to the public bidding statutes as they relate to file sub-bidders. <br /> Ac11.13 <br />
