APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE <br /> THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 1996 <br /> COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE, 7:30 PM <br /> * Present: P Lapointe, M Miley, M Mairson, L Peck, R Colwell, R Borghesani, J Ryan <br /> * Absent: R Leone, M Hastings, J Pagett <br /> * Also Present: N Cohen <br /> * P Lapointe discussed the updated situation with the MMRVHS and the letters addressed <br /> to all Town Meeting members dated April 17th <br /> * N Cohen discussed issues surrounding the MMRVHS assessment and appropriation <br /> * General discussion of the School Department appropriation request <br /> * Concern expressed over J Dini's ability to defend $ 162,500 request from "free cash" <br /> * General discussion to support appropriation to MMRVHS @ $ 424,087 or $ 8,832 less <br /> than being requested. There are 16 member communities. If 2/3 pass the reduced <br /> appropriation the assessments are then final. If 1/3 or less pass the reduced amounts the <br /> MMRVHS School Committee must re-do their budget <br /> * P Lapointe notified the AC that M Hastings had notified NM Battin that she was <br /> resigning from the AC <br /> * General discussion of the Library appropriation request <br /> * General discussion of Art 22, 24 and 25 <br /> * Motion to adjourn <br /> acapl8 <br />
