APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1996 <br /> COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE, 7:30 PM <br /> Present: P Lapointe, M Miley, L Peck, R Colwell, M Hastings, J Pagett, R Borghesani, <br /> J Ryan <br /> Absent: R Leone, M Mairson <br /> * MOTION to accept the minutes of the January 25, 1996 meeting, UNANIMOUS <br /> * MOTION to accept the minutes of the February 7, 1996 meeting as amended, <br /> UNANIMOUS <br /> * Information distributed consisted of Town Report as edited, certification of free cash, <br /> meeting schedule during town meeting, special education increases for fy 97 as prepared <br /> by S Guryan, copy of the Building Finance Committee Report dated December 18, <br /> 1995, and a copy of the 1996 Warrant <br /> * Discussed the town report as amended. Concern over the action taken by the AC at <br /> the 1995 ATM. AC felt strongly that the summary did not properly reflect the position <br /> taken by the AC. P Lapointe and M Miley will attempt to clarify with Bob Morrison. <br /> * Discussed schedule and set the following dates for meetings: February 27, March 5, <br /> March 9(Sat), March 14, March 19 <br /> * AC will attempt to have Shelley Chamberlain, Fred Rosenberg and others attend a <br /> meeting specifically top deal with the technology issue. AC needs to be convinced that <br /> there is a long term goal and plan in place. Some feedback suggests that the Hastings has <br /> not been quite as successful as had been hoped. <br /> * General discussion of possible supplementary needs of the schools this year. Discussion <br /> centered around the $ 230K and the special education needs. <br /> * P Lapointe discussed progress being made in reviewing the MMRVHS with the assistance <br /> of the other member communities.
