Roy [MDR] (Vice Chair), Stephanie Hsu [SH] <br /> (Clerk), Christina Lin [CL], Larry Freeman [LF], Melissa Interess [MI] (Town Manager's Office <br /> Member/Human Services Department), Chris Barry [CB] (Police Department), Cleveland Coates [CC], <br /> Scott Bokun [SB] (School Committee Member) <br /> Meeting called to order at 8:30 AM, Quorum was present at 8:30 AM <br /> 1. Welcome <br /> 2. Minutes— MI moved to approve the November 18, 2021 minutes; LF seconded; Approved <br /> unanimously <br /> 3. No Hate November Update—We decided to extend the time for service hours to January 2, to <br /> give students more time to respond. There has been a good response and we hope for more <br /> over the break. <br /> 4. Workgroups: <br /> a. Impact of COVID on Persons with Disabilities—The workgroup met with Kate <br /> DeAngelis,Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for the Recreation Center this week to <br /> learn about her experiences working/programing for persons of disabilities through <br /> the pandemic (all ages). She is encouraging of our work and will join our team as to <br /> consult and guide. We will create a list of contacts that include group homes here in <br /> Lexington, developing a resource list that can be available on a variety of town pages, <br /> and deciding on the best outreach for gathering stories (including a short qualitative <br /> survey, a series of focus groups, providing "office hours" so people can reach out <br /> individually, and using the LexDEI Inbox). <br /> b. MLK Community Conversation on Race—CL—Will take place virtually January 17, 2022 <br /> from 10am-12pm. Speakers are being finalized and the flyer should be ready soon. <br /> 5. Updates from Members - Members gave updates on recent activities including the LPD <br /> investigating an incident in October that has led to charges that include civil rights charges; <br /> updates on the work of the Citizens Input Taskforce, CPAC, Climate Action Plan working group, <br /> and the Mental Health Task Force. <br /> 6. Unexpected Items Not Reasonably Anticipated in Advance— Logo will be on agenda in next <br /> couple months. <br /> 7.
