375 <br /> TOWN WARRANT <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss. <br /> To either of the Constables of the Town of Lexington,. in said <br /> County, Greeting: <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br /> directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Lexington, <br /> _ qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs.,_ to meet in <br /> the Cary Memorial Building, in said Lexington, on Monday, the <br /> twentieth day of December, 1937, at 8:00 P . M. , then and there to <br /> act on the following articles : <br /> Article 1. To receive the report of any Board of Town Officers <br /> or of any Committee of the Town and to appoint other Committees. <br /> Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and <br /> transfer sums from available funds to the following accounts : <br /> Public Welfare <br /> Removal of Snow and Ice <br /> Law Department - Personal Services & Special Fees <br /> Law Dena-qtment - Expenses <br /> Health Department Expenses <br /> School Maintenance, Other Expenses <br /> Highway Maintenance - Personal Services <br /> Soldier/F. Relief <br /> Police Department - Expenses <br /> Article 3. To see if the Town wild vote to appropriate funds for <br /> labor and materials on public works and for other expenses in <br /> connection therewith, to be expended by the Selectmen for aid <br /> to persons employed on various projects , and provide funds <br /> therefor by transfer from available funds . <br /> Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate money to <br /> be expended under the direction of the Selectmen for the purchase <br /> of materials and equipment and for wages of superintendence on <br /> Public works for which the Town has power to appropriate money <br /> to be designated by the Selectmen, in which works recipients of <br /> welfare aid from the Town may be required to work, and provide <br /> funds therefor by transfer from available funds. <br /> Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to nay any unpaid bills <br /> for prior years of the various town departments , and provide <br /> money therefor by appropriation and transfer from available <br /> funds . <br /> Article 6. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to <br /> install street lights in the following unaccepted streets : <br /> Valleyfield Street ; Preston Road. <br /> Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and <br /> transfer money from available funds for the installation of a <br /> water main not less then 6' and not more than 16' in diameter <br /> in Raymond Street, from Muzzey Street to Clarke Street. <br /> Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Select- <br /> men to install a sewer in Follen Road from Smith Avenue a distance <br /> of approximately 460 feet, subject to the assessment of better- <br /> ments, and provide funds therefor by appropriation and transfer <br /> from available funds . <br /> Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to install underground <br /> cable for the Fire Department and pay for the same by aPpropria- <br /> tion and transfer from available funds . <br /> Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to place under the <br /> management of the School Committee the property purchased from <br /> Harriette W. Smith under the provisions of Article 44 of the <br /> Annual Town Meetin7 held in 1937. <br />
