183 <br /> TOWN WARRANT <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss. <br /> To either of the Constablescof the Town of Lexington, <br /> in said County, Greeting: <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you <br /> are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of <br /> Lexington, qualified to vote in elections and in town <br /> affairs, to meet in their respective voting places in <br /> said town, <br /> (Precinct One, ADAMS SCHOOL; Precinct Two, Three and <br /> Four, CARY MEMORIAL HALL) on Monday, the eighteenth <br /> day of November, A.D. , 1935, at twelve osclock, Noon, <br /> then and there to act on the following articles : <br /> ARTICLE I. To choose by ballot the following town officers : <br /> One Tax Collector to fill the unexpired term ending March, 1936; <br /> One Selectman to fill the unexpired term ending March, 1936; <br /> One Selectman to fill the unexpired term ending March, 1937. <br /> REFERENDUM PETITION <br /> Question Number I. To vote upon the following question <br /> presented to the voters at large by the Select- <br /> men, pursuant to a petition for a referendum <br /> upon a vote rejecting a measure at the Special <br /> Town Meeting held on October 21, 1935: <br /> Article 7. <br /> Voted that the Town construct a sanitary sewer <br /> and storm water drain, the drain to be constructed <br /> from Hayes Lane, through private lands along <br /> Vine Brook to Vine Brook Road, and the sewer to <br /> be constructed from Hayes Lane through private <br /> lands along Vine Brook and its south branch to <br /> the junction of the relocated north branch, <br /> thence through private lands to Kendall Road, <br /> and in Kendall Road to Grapevine Avenue; thence <br /> in Grapevine Avenue to its junction with Waltham <br /> Street, and for the purpose of financing the <br /> construction of the same and to enable the <br /> Town to secure the benefits of the joint resolu- <br /> tion of Congress known as the Emergency Relief <br /> Appropriation Act of 1935, there be appropriated <br /> the sum of $170,000.00, if such construction is <br /> approved by the Emergency Finance Board and the <br /> Governor of Massachusetts andthe proper federal <br /> authorities have approved a grant therefor of <br /> federal money as provided in Ch. 366 of the <br /> Acts of 1933 as amended by Ch. 404 of the Acts <br /> of 1935 and that for the purpose of meeting part <br /> of said appropriation the treasurer with the <br /> approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is <br /> authorized to borrow the sum of $100,000.00 and <br /> to is sue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, <br /> under authority of and in accordance with the <br /> provisions of said statute, said bonds or notes <br /> to be payable in not more than twenty years at <br /> such term and maximum rate of interest as may be <br /> fixed by the Emergency Finance Board. <br />
